A little background . . .
Sandra is a qualified general and children’s nurse with 20 years experience. She became interested in holistic therapies while practising as a nurse, as she witnessed first hand how so many hospital admissions could have been avoided if people had listened to their bodies and taken the time to look after them. Over-work, stress and poor nutrition account for a large number of illnesses, which put undue pressure on the mind and every system of the body. By allowing our mind and body the time to relax and recover on a regular basis, both are then in a better position to heal and stay healthy.
Holistic treatments are an integral part of this process, as they assist in restoring the normal functioning to all the body systems. They achieve this by encouraging better circulation, thus improving cell nutrition and cell regeneration. They help flush out toxins via the lymphatic & renal systems. The body’s own natural immunity is boosted by holistic therapies, therefore enabling it to fight illness naturally. Holistic therapies help to release the body’s natural feel-good endorphins, which enhance the mood and the efficiency of the mind.
The body at ease is well nourished, supple & pain free. Tension, discomfort and pain are our body’s way of telling us something is wrong. When we ignore our body’s needs we also miss out on a truly nourishing way of reconnecting the body and mind with spirit.
It is not a luxury to take care of ourselves – it is as necessary as eating, sleeping and breathing.
